Decide Which One

“An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life…
‘A fight is going on inside me,’ he said to the boy.
‘It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.’
‘One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego.’
‘The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.’
“This same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.’
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, ‘Which wolf will win?’
The old chief simply replied, ‘The one you feed.'”
This is a very simple parable and yet unnaturally moving. In a taxpayer’s life, there’s always a fight within. We have our own version of wolves that may be similar to that of the grandfather that joust for victory. A taxpayer’s first wolf can be ignorance, cowardice and fear and the second wolf can be courage, knowledge and assurance.
If you want to feed the first wolf, do not educate yourself. Continue to be hidden and rely on the hearsays, advices of people without verifying it. Elevate public servants to saints and bosses. This will definitely thrive and strengthen this wolf.
However, if you want to nourish the second wolf, you must do the opposite. Embrace your responsibility to be educated. Invest in books and trainings. Apply them into practice. Empower yourself and know your right and act your identity as the boss. Feed this wolf and the other will definitely cry in defeat.
It’s your choice which wolf you’ll feed continually. I pray we fatten the right one.
We at ETM would like to inform you that we will conduct seminars regarding “PROPER PROCEDURES IN RECEIVING BIR NOTICES” This aims to protect, shield and strengthen your company against irregular / incompetent practices in the bureau or possible harassment.
